My Professional Journey

I've always been fascinated by how things work under the hood. For me, software engineering isn't just about typing code; it's about building bridges between problems and solutions using the most elegant tools available.

The Problems I've Solved

Scaling Real-Time Communication

Distributed Systems & Architecture | 2023 — Present

I focus on the "plumbing" of the internet—making sure thousands of people can talk to each other every second without any hiccups. I designed a way for many different computer clusters to communicate reliably, and helped build a system that streams massive amounts of chat data—gigabytes of it—to where it needs to go, in real-time. It's like building a high-speed highway for information where nothing ever gets lost.

Modernizing Financial Architectures

System Modernization & Team Leadership | 2021 — 2023

I led a team focusing on making investment platforms faster and more reliable. We took apart old, slow systems (the kind that still rely on bulky XML configuration) and rebuilt them to be modern, fast, and much cheaper to run. It was a giant puzzle of making various services speak the same language while cleaning up "code smells" and establishing new standards for everyone to follow.

High-Speed Data Processing

Performance Engineering | 2019 — 2021

This is where I learned to make things go 10x faster. I built systems for processing massive amounts of binary data (specifically telecommunications records) in real-time. Beyond just writing code, I helped create the "blueprint" or reference architecture that would later be used to build dozens of other products across the organization.

Tools of the Trade

What I use most

  • Go
  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • Python
  • SQL
  • NoSQL

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • AWS
  • Google Cloud
  • Azure
  • Kubernetes
  • Docker
  • Kafka

Continuous Learning

I'm currently pursuing a Master's in Computer Science at Bragança Polytechnic University in Portugal. Before that, I earned my Bachelor's in Computer Engineering at CEFET-MG in Brazil. Education for me isn't about the degree; it's about staying curious.
